The Australian government has launched serious inquiries into the drayage practices on five of the country’s major ports that could urge considerable changes for higher mandated levels on new work rules and driver pay.

For the second year in a row and based on a per capital income, serious injuries reported on ACT constructions sites continue to rise. This came two years after a major report on surrounding site safety called for a considerable reduction of 35 percent.

An investigation into suspected breaches of health and safety regulations of ten AFL clubs has been put on temporary hold, with the Victorian WorkCover Authority awaiting the final word from the Federal Court into the probe of the Essendon supplements program.

According to a recent internal audit, Lend Lease has records of almost 70 safety breaches which place workers at high risk of falls from height, fire, falling objects and electrocution.

The Queensland Government is contemplating to incorporate some changes into the state's WHS laws to protect the small businesses that would be identified as "financially disadvantaged.” Another purpose of this survey is to put a stop as well of accusing employers of putting "profits before people.”
